What open-source security stack does your business actually need?

Eight questions about what you're protecting. We map the answers to our six managed open-source services — Wazuh, Keycloak, Teleport, Velociraptor, OpenVAS, SonarQube — and tell you which to deploy, which to skip, and which one to do first.

No fear, no upsell

This is not a sales funnel.

No vendor commissions.

We do not sell software. The proposal recommends control categories, not products. You will not receive a "risk score" that is secretly an upsell.

The proposal is yours.

Take it to your accountant, your insurer, or a competing advisor. We do not gate the result — the number is visible the moment you finish the eight questions.

We will tell you to stay.

If your current quote is already right-sized, we will say so. We have sent buyers back to their existing vendor before. The math decides; we just show you the math.

Step 1 of 8

What industry is the business in?

Industry sets your baseline regulatory and threat exposure.

How the numbers were sourced

Methodology, briefly.

Benchmarks

Sourced from Verizon DBIR 2025, IBM Cost of a Data Breach 2025, Coalition 2024 Claims Report, and Hiscox SMB Cyber Readiness 2025. Recalibrated annually as each report updates.

Anti-vendor-bias

We do not resell software. We do not earn commissions or referral fees. The proposal recommends control categories, not product names, because vendor markets shift every eighteen months and categories do not.

Outcome

A 60-person professional-services firm cut their annual cyber quote by 41% by removing three tools they did not need and adding the two they did. (Anonymised; named case study forthcoming.)

Questions owners actually ask

FAQ

Is this a sales pitch?

No. Most people who use the calculator never speak with us. The proposal is yours to keep, share, and benchmark against any other quote. If you want a second opinion, book the call. If you don't, the math still holds.

Why don't you recommend specific vendors?

Vendor markets shift every 18 months. Control categories don't. If we named tools, we'd be wrong by the time you read it — and you'd reasonably suspect we had a commercial reason. We don't. Categories are durable; vendors are interchangeable.

What if my budget is smaller than your recommendation?

Spend the smaller amount on the right categories. The proposal shows a 'first-buy if delayed' for every category — the single highest-leverage move if you can only fund one thing. A right-sized $20K beats a fear-driven $80K every time.

Do you handle implementation, or just advise?

Both, but separately. The calculator is free. Advisory engagements are flat-fee. Implementation work is hourly with a fixed cap. We never bundle them — that bundle is how vendor-lock pricing happens.

Is my data saved when I fill this out?

The calculator runs entirely in your browser. Nothing leaves the page until you click 'Email me this proposal.' If you do, we store your email and the proposal for follow-up, and only that. No tracking pixels, no marketing-platform handoff, no third-party retargeting.
